The Opportunity

Bidsync is an enterprise government bid application that allows companies to bid on government contracts.  They needed a new website and decided to use WordPress.

The Ask

The challenges for Bidsync were three-fold:

• Making sure that WordPress was scalable and fast.
• Making sure the template was error-free and functioned appropriately
• Security –  Bidsync houses government contract information and needed to make sure the server and code was secure.  

Resolution

In creating the template we had to interface with the Bidsync API to retrieve current bid information and display it on the homepage.  We did this with an AJAX request to the API. We then made sure the template was free of all PHP and Javascript errors.

We set up the Linux servers and did extensive security and penetration testing to ensure that servers were up to date on all software and all known security holes were patched.  Once the servers were set up we installed powerful caching software to make the site super fast and enterprise-ready.
